Marian M. Arciola, 76, of Spring Hill, FL passed away Monday July 17, 2017 after a long, brave battle with cancer at her daughter's home in Southport, CT surrounded by her loving family.
She was the fifth child of the late Alfonso and Rose (DeRosa) Mola. She was born February 5, 1941 in Norwalk, CT. Graduating from Norwalk HS in 1959. Spending most of her years raising her family in Westport, CT before moving to FL and spending her summers in CT.
Marian was a member of the Red Hats Society, a former member of The Westport Garden Club, Catholic Daughters, and Westport PAL. She was proud of her family and was happiest being a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. When she wasn't gardening, traveling, volunteering, or doting on her grandchildren, she would be lovingly cooking or baking for her family. Her strong faith and compassion was complimented by her beautiful spirit which touched many people who came into her life. The best garden she ever planted was her devotion to her family and extended family.
Marian is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Carmen S. Arciola, her 3 children who adored her; Carmen, Jr. (Pamella), Pamela Greenhut (Stephen) and Jeffrey (Kathi), her 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Danielle, Taylor, Brenna, Kyle, Jason and Caroline. She is also survived by a sister Patricia (Carl) Sckolnik, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-laws, John Mola (Shirley), Vincent Mola (Lillian), her sister and brother-in-law, Lucille Downing (Hartford) and her sister, Lois Accardi (Alexander).
The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home 210 Post Road East, Westport, CT on Friday July 21, 2017 from 9:00AM to 10:45AM Friends are invited to attend a funeral immediately following at 11:00AM in Assumption Church 98 Riverside Ave. Westport, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery 223 Richards Ave. Norwalk, CT. Condolences for the family may be left on line at www.hardingfuneral.com.
