Mr. Darin R. Walt, 50, of Weston CT and loving husband of Jennifer A. Lauer passed away on Saturday December 28, 2019 in Yale New Haven Hospital after losing a battle with cancer.

Darin was born in Santa Barbara, CA in April 1969 and was the son of Garry Walt and the late Jackie (Thompson) Walt. He was a graduate of San Marcos High School and University of California at Santa Barbara. He was a successful businessman and worked in a Big 4 accounting firm in New York City as a Director. He was an avid golfer and the president of Ridgewood Country Club.

He was a very loving and proud father of his two children. His family and friends knew him only as a gregarious, fun loving person who was a true friend who would go out of his way to make sure everyone was having a great time. Darin was known for his long, entertaining stories, and signature everything – food, drinks, experiences, and parties (especially the parties).

Survivors in addition to his wife Jennifer include one daughter Alexis Walt of Weston CT; one son Austin Walt of Weston, CT; his father Garry Walt of Santa Barbara, CA; one sister Tracy Shannon of Santa Barbara, CA; one niece Jordan Shannon of New York City; and one nephew Conor Shannon of Chicago, IL.

The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home 210 Post Road East, Westport, CT on Sunday January 5, 2020 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Contributions in memory of Darin may be made to the Smilow Cancer Center 20 York Street New Haven, CT 06510. Condolences for the family may be left on line at www.hardingfuneral.com

We were deeply saddened to hear about Darin’s passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Darin 4 years ago through a work connection. His infectious personality, sense of humor and love for life were second to none. I am very thankful for having met Darin in this short journey we call life. We express our deepest condolences to Jennifer, Alexis and Austin. He will always be remembered!
